Week of Finals & Last day of Technology

The day has come so fast. It's that time of the semester that we end and may meet again. I joined this class late in the semester and I'm happy to say I worked diligently and caught up to the rest of the class. Of course it was not easy but I did it. I'm very happy with the work, skills and programs I learned in this class. It has taught me a lot for my career to become a teacher. I'm excited to be able to use important resources taught from such a good teacher, Professor Ries! I will definitely miss the class and learning technology. Thanks to the class and especially professor for all you have taught me! I will definitely think of you with each program you taught me! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Last week of the semester

Wow! This semester flew by! I can't believe it's already over. It wasn't as hard as I expected. It was a very good first semester spent at Caldwell College. I really did enjoy it. Although, I do look forward to the end of my college years and moving onto my career! I do have to say I have worked pretty hard this semester to get where I'm now. This semester I went to school full-time and maintained 2 jobs. This is the last week of classes. Next week is Finals week. I do look forward to the semester ending and preparing the next couple weeks for the holidays!

Thanksgiving & Black Friday

So a week ago was Thanksgiving. It was a nice and relaxing holiday. Wednesday night, Thanksgiving Eve is the biggest drinking night of the year. There's a bar in town where all the people from the high school go. It was like a class reunion all over again. It was a lot of fun. Me and my boyfriend went. His mom dropped us off and picked us up so we didn't have to worry about rides. After we left, she brought us home and I slept over his house. The next morning I woke up and showered then I spent Thanksgiving at his house. Later on, around 6 pm, Frank and I decided we were going to go to my aunt's where my family was spending Thanksgiving. We had some coffee and dessert. It was a very enjoyable holiday!

On Black Friday, I had off from my job at the daycare. It was nice to have a day off! I decided I wasn't going to go out in the holiday rush of craziness on Black Friday. I thought it was way to crazy for me to go out. Usually when I shop, I enjoy being able to walk around and look for what I want, not fighting for something. Later on around 3 pm, I decided that I was going to go to a couple stores. The few stores I went too were not crazy at all. They had people in it but everyone was shopping like a normal day with just a price discount. It was good for me! I still got to take advantage of Black Friday discounts but also not fight to get through people.

AHHHHHHHHHH! THANK GOD IT'S OVER!

So my Anthropology professor gave us a paper to write on different topics such as Scientology, the Ku Klux Klan, The Manson Family, etc. The paper had to be 4 pages about the beliefs, leaders and history. The next 4 pages needed to be 4 articles found on the topic you chose. For each article, you needed to write a half page summary on the article and the other half page had to be on your reaction to the article. It was a lot of work and research. I finished today, Thursday and its due today. Just as I'm printing out the paper to go to class at 1 o clock, something told me to read my caldwell e-mail. Well when I read my e-mail, there was an e-mail from my professor stating that she wasn't feeling well and wasn't going to make it to class today. UGH thats frustrating knowing that she's not going to be here to collect our papers, but we do have to either e-mail it to her or put it in her mailbox. I'm on my way to putting it in her mailbox after writing this. Well, on the bright side of things, the paper is done and out of my hair and she gave us off next Tuesday for those who are dorm and are going home. Next week will be a week-free of Anthropology. :) Great start to my weekend!

Spring Registration 2012

Yesterday, Monday November 14th, I had class in the morning from 10:00-10:50 then I went to my Social Studies Advisor. I never met him before. He was nice and to the point. We discussed the classes I've taken at my other college before I came to Caldwell College. He gave me a lot of helpful tips on my time spent at Caldwell College. Today, Tuesday, November 15th, I woke up at 8:15 a.m. to make sure I was ready to  register for the Spring semester. It was my first time ever registering for classes at Caldwell. At first, I was registering for my classes and every class I registered for I got a rejection error. Finally, a few minutes later I tried again. I was able to register for 2 of the 4 classes I need for the Spring. When I came to school, I went to the Registrar's Office and they were not able to register me for the other 2 classes either due to needing a waiver to join the class. Now, I'm waiting for my Education Advisor to come in so I can get her to sign my waiver!

weekend

Thursday, I came to school and ran some errands before being in my boyfriend's sister's wedding. It came so quick! Thursday was a little crazy with so many things to do. Thursday night we had the rehearsal dinner and it was very fun and entertaining. Friday morning we woke up very early to get our hair and makeup done and took pictures at her house before the church. After we went to the church then the reception. We had a blast. The wedding was so fun and memorable for all. Friday night we stayed at a hotel so we didn't need to drive far, we got a shuttle from the reception to the hotel. Saturday, we woke up and had brunch and had a little after party at night. It was very relaxing. Sunday we watched football and hung out.

felt like forever

Well this week has been long and rough. Monday I woke up not feeling so good, went to the doctor and they gave me an antibiotic. Even though I wasn't feeling great, I still went to work. Tuesday morning I woke up feeling worse than Monday so I decided to stay home from my classes. I slept majority of the day. I think I was not only sick but also run down. After I woke up, I felt a lot better. Wednesday, I had class in the morning then ended up going to work at the daycare. Today, Thursday, was a long day. I had all my classes plus work till 8: 30. I just finished having some dinner and now I'm going to shower and watch some television. 

Rest of the week...

So yesterday I had class in the morning and after class I went to work at the daycare again. It was a pretty successful day at work yesterday. When I went into work, all the children were supposed to be napping but 5 out of 11 children were still awake. I was able to get all 5 children asleep before nap time was over. Then since it was a pretty crappy day out, we stayed inside and talked about Halloween, read books pertaining to Halloween, reviewed what they learned that day and played with some toys. It was quite fun! After work, my boyfriend and I went to his sister and her finance's apartment to paint and help clean up.

Today is a new day, I have classes all day from 10- 4 15. After my last class, I have work at the pharmacy from 5- 830. When I get out of work, I'm going to go home and have cake and coffee with my family for my Dad's birthday!

Tomorrow, my boss of the daycare asked me to teach the 4 year olds in the morning the curriculum of the class for Friday. I have to teach the 4 year olds from 8- 1 then I'm working with the 3 year olds from 1-6.  I'm pretty excited!

Lastly, Saturday and Sunday I have work at the pharmacy. Saturday I work from 9-5, and Sunday from 9-1 After, I'm going to have an early dinner with my boyfriend's family, then we are going to work on my boyfriend's sister's apartment again!

It should be a fun, but long weekend!

First day of my 2nd job..

Yesterday was my first day of my second job which is at a daycare! The kids will definitely keep me on my toes thats for sure. My first day was quite interesting. I was by myself with 10- 3 year olds. When I got there they were napping from 12 30- 3.. When they got up, we went to the bathroom and put away our blankets and sheets and got ready for snack time..YUM! After snack, we got our jackets on and got ready to play outside for 30 minutes. When it was time to come inside, we took off our jackets and hung them up. Then each child was assigned to a center where they would play with other children. After centers, we cleaned up and sat in a circle and talked about Halloween! As we stayed busy throughout the afternoon, many children got picked up by their parents/guardians. Before I knew it, it was time to go home. I really enjoyed my first day with the 3 year olds! Can't wait to go back on Wednesday!!!

Successful Day!

So this morning, I woke up and ate some breakfast. Then I decided I was going to do some laundry and homework. After a little while, I decided I was going to go to the mall. I got a couple things I needed. I also got hired for another job today. Nothing like working 2 jobs I guess. Today, I got hired at a daycare down the street from my house. That's pretty exciting considering I'm going for Elementary Ed. I'm excited to start my new job with 3 year olds! My schedule will be a little crazy considering I'm a full time student and working 2 jobs but I think I can manage. Tomorrow I hope to have another successful day of getting things that are needed done!

Thank God it's Thursday!

It's been a very long week. It was so nice to have off on Monday and Tuesday from school. It gave me a lot of time to get all my stuff in order for the week and complete my homework! That's a relief. Yesterday, I had my Education Interview. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. Everyone was very helpful! Today is a long day, because I have all my classes on Thursdays. It's also exciting because it's my last day of the school week! I'm looking forward to the weekend. Praying for some sun!

Day off!

Today is a new day! Feeling very motivated today. I woke up without an alarm, which feels great! I made myself breakfast and got to my homework. Tomorrow is my interview to get into the Education Program. This should be fun. I'm a little bit nervous but I think all will go well. Today, my goals are to complete all my homework and laundry and clean my car! We will see how far I get. I think I can get it all done. Sometimes I work best under pressure. After a nice relaxing weekend and doing what I want, without looking at a book or an assignment, it's time to work! 

Columbus Day Weekend

Being able to wake up at 11 a.m is a great feeling! I haven't been able to really sleep in a lot lately. Between school and work, sleeping late is not an option. Today feels so nice to just be able to hang out and do what I want..I'm enjoying my day off from school. I had quite a long weekend. Friday night, me and my boyfriend went to see some of his family, Saturday morning we went apple picking in NY. Saturday night was a good friends birthday so we went out to celebrate which was a GREAT time! Sunday I had my boyfriend's sister's bridal shower, whose wedding I'm in! It was a good weekend and I'm going to enjoy having Monday and Tuesday off!

Busy Week

Wow... Thank God it's Thursday! It has been a very long week. Two tests, two papers,and trying to catch up from missing the first couple weeks of this class. I can't wait for this 5 day weekend. It will be nice and relaxing. Although, I do have to work on some projects and papers for my classes. So far my first semester at Caldwell has been quite enjoyable. I have met a lot of people and learned a lot and it's only a little over a month of school!
